The first SIRCULAR workshop will be held in Tallinn on April 15
07.04.2025On April 15, 2025, members of the Estonian cluster of the SIRCULAR Project – Tallinn University of Technology, the Estonian Union of Co-operative Housing Associations (EKYL), and Balti Vara Ehitus – will organise a technical training workshop for renovation experts and housing managers in Estonia. It will be the first event of a series of capacity-building activities planned for renovation stakeholders in Estonia as part of the SIRCULAR project. In addition to the workshops for renovation experts, there will also be workshops for end-users, residents, and homeowners, as well as Living Labs for co-creation among stakeholders planned in the coming three years.
The technical workshop will take place at the Mektory Innovation Hub in Tallinn and will be tailored for renovation professionals working in building companies, project offices, municipalities, apartment associations, or as independent technical consultants specializing in the renovation of apartment buildings. The workshop will provide a chance to enhance the skills and knowledge of professionals involved in the renovation of multi-apartment buildings on a daily basis and equip these professionals with the latest tools and insights for managing renovation projects.
The first SIRCULAR workshop in Estonia will focus on the challenges related to the preparation and commissioning of the terms of reference for an apartment building renovation project from a technical perspective. It will also provide the chance to engage stakeholders in discussion, collect the stories of challenges that the stakeholders are facing in their work, and use this feedback for developing plans for SIRCULAR project before the SIRCULAR solutions for decarbonization, renovation, and circularity are implemented in the demo in Estonia.
The workshop provides an environment for collaborative teamwork among participants, where they share their experiences and co-create solutions for the challenges they encounter in their roles as renovation professionals. The session will facilitate a dialogue between renovation professionals, fostering shared vision and showcasing solutions for common challenges in renovation of energy inefficient apartment buildings. Also, the SIRCULAR project will be introduced to the stakeholders to help them to better understand the implications of incorporating the SIRCULAR project solutions and tools in their work. The workshop collaborates with the EBENTO project, which brings its expertise in the renovation of multi-apartment building stock and creates synergy with SIRCULAR project for energy efficient building stock.
