The project will be implemented in cooperation with partners in Ukraine: \u201cExpert Interbranch Association of Ukraine\u201d ja \u201cState Fund for Support of Youth Housing Construction\u201d.\u00a0 The project is financed by Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs from the funds of development cooperation and humanitarian aid.<span id=\"more-1302113\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Estonian development cooperation is directed towards securing peace, prosperity and economic and social stability, and it works towards decreasing world poverty in harmony with the internationally approved principles of sustainable development. Estonia is sharing its reform experiences with transition economy countries interested in this subject matter. The goal of the project \u201cSupport to Housing Sector Reforms in Ukraine\u201d is to support the preparation and implementation of housing sector reforms in Ukraine in 2018-2020. EKYL and project partners in Ukraine will develop in cooperation with UNECE housing experts a new professional standard for managers of apartment buildings, will organize vocational training for apartment building managers and municipalities\u2019 residential housing officials and will analyze Ukraine\u2019s housing legislation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The challenges of housing in Ukraine and project action plan were discussed during the meeting of project experts in Kyiv, 12th November 2018.\u00a0 Andres Jaadla, Chairman of the Board of EKYL and head of ad-hoc working group of Housing Europe on housing systems in transition, told that EKYL appreciates highly the opportunity to cooperate with colleagues in Ukraine. \u201eEKYL has more than 20 years of experience with implementing housing reforms and developing training programs in this field. It is now a great opportunity to cooperate with partners in Ukraine and exchange the knowhow that can be useful for planning and implemeting housing reforms in Ukraine. EKYL has developed professional standards and professional trainings for managers of apartment associations in Estonia, that will be the basis for a new curricula in this field in Ukraine now,\u201c explained Andres Jaadla.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>About the Estonian Union of Co-operative Housing Associations:<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>The Estonian Union of Co-operative Housing Associations (EKYL)\u00a0is an independent non-profit organization with more than 1400 members \u2013 co-operative housing associations\/ apartment associations all over Estonia.\u00a0Its mission is to support the development of cooperative housing, through the implementation of knowledge-based activities as training, consulting, advisory services, research, national and international cooperation projects.
