Estonian Union of Co-operative Housing Associations received high international recognition at the Energy Globe Awards ceremony in Tehran

2000 projects from 178 countries were submitted for the Energy Globe Award 2017, which shows a global importance of the environmental activity and sustainable solutions for every problem in our world.

EKYL received Energy Globe National Award with project “Energy consumers awareness”. The project provides people in apartment blocks with energy efficient techniques and knowledge and aims to reduce their carbon footprint by the use of these systems. The target group were consumers in multi-occupancy apartment blocks. Almost 6,000 consumers/representatives of apartment associations participated in trainings targeted to energy efficiency and energy saving.

“It is a great honor for EKYL to receive this award and recognition, as it reflects the hard work of the team of EKYL to develop the consumer-focused practices for achieving energy efficiency and sustainability of our living environment,” said Andres Jaadla, Chairman of EKYL, after the award ceremony in Tehran, Iran. “It has become possible thanks to all the apartment associations in Estonia who are ready to implement energy efficient and smart solutions”.

Among the congratulators was also Seyyed Abolfazl Razavi, Iranian vice president for rural development and deprived areas, who showed great interest in the EKYL’s award-winning project.
